The Heavy Equipment Superintendent is responsible for coordinating, facilitating, and executing equipment activities in support of all construction projects. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable qualified individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Provide leadership in the field of heavy equipment set up and maintenance needs ensuring equipment readiness for specific project needs.Work in the Company's maintenance system to record/track equipment maintenance and utilization.Provide management with equipment usage reports and establish metrics to gage improvements.Act as a technical advisor to equipment personnel to ensure repairs are completed correctly, within budget and according to schedule.Assist management with equipment budgets, equipment repair/rebuild decisions, and potential equipment purchases.Provide direction for equipment maintenance operations including staffing, training, performance management, and employee development.Prepare and distribute daily schedule to mechanicsMaintain strong relationships with vendors, manufacturers, and service representatives.Assist Heavy Equipment Manager with acquisitions and disposals.Manage outside equipment rental contracts.Ensure on-the-job safety and quality performance through personal example as well as supervision activities.Report and investigate incidents and accidents.Seek opportunities to improve processes and to find efficiencies.Provide performance feedback to employees and report issues to management.Qualifications:High school diploma or equivalent required; degree in mechanical engineering, construction management, or related field. 4+ years' experience as heavy equipment mechanic with 1+ year of supervisory experienceA combination of education and experience in a construction-related position that provides the knowledge and experience required for this position will be considered.Practical knowledge of the function, operation, and maintenance of construction equipment required.General knowledge of construction practices (excavating, grading, paving, etc.) required.Valid driver license with acceptable driving record required.Exceptional mechanical aptitude required.Proficiency in Microsoft 365 and Adobe Acrobat required.Strong organizational and time management skills required.Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen.Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:Must be able to stand, walk, or sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb, balance, or stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawlMust be able to move objects weighing up to 50 pounds.This position requires work performed outdoors in variable weather and lighting conditions, including extreme heat and humidity.Must be willing to work a flexible schedule including early mornings, evenings, and weekends as needed.This position requires travel to job sites.Quality Enterprises USA, Inc.
