Currently looking for a Java Developer in the Tallahassee area for a large financial company. This is a 12 month contract. Please review the requirements below:



Required technical skills:

" Java Technologies: Core Java, J2EE (JSP, Servlets,), Spring Web, Spring MVC, Spring Webservices (SOAP/REST).

" Web/Application Servers: Apache Tomcat, Web Sphere.

" Tools / IDEs: IntelliJ, Aqua Studio

" RDBMS / Database: DB2, SQL Server

" SQL and PLSQL



Position Summary:

This position is responsible for coding, modifying, debugging, and documenting software applications that best support business requirements. Modify moderately complex applications programs from detailed specifications.

Essential Functions:

o Plan, design, develop, modify, debug and evaluate moderately complex software for functional areas.

o Analyze existing software or work to formulate logic for moderately complex new systems and devise moderately complex algorithms.

o Perform data analysis and test/debug software.

o Design and apply basic data sources. Apply effective programming security practices.

o Execute test plans.

o Develop conversion and system implementation plans and regularly create and execute unit tests.

o Employ source code control techniques.

o Assist with successful configuration management.

o Gather and analyze data to prepare system and programming documentation.

o Assist with implementation of changes in development, maintenance and system standards and in the creation of software specifications.

o Regularly report progress on projects.

o Demonstrated ability to follow software specifications.

Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

o Knowledge of secure software development.

o Intermediate skills associated with the design, development, modification and deployment of software, including object-oriented programming concepts.

o Demonstrated testing and test planning skills.

o Experience with common programming tools.

o Demonstrated ability to follow software specifications.

o Demonstrated ability to communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical personnel at various levels within IT.

o Demonstrated problem solving skills.

o Demonstrated effective communication and interpersonal skills.

o Self-motivated and works independently and as part of a team.

o Able to learn effectively and meet deadlines.

o Work under general supervision with few direct instructions.

Required Education and Experience:

o Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/ Information Technology or related field OR 4 years of relevant experience OR a combination of college education and relevant work experience equivalent to 4 years.

o AND

o Typically 2 - 5 years of development experience.
