The City of Lake Worth Beach invites qualified individuals to apply for the position of PC Technician - FT. This Full-Time Non-Exempt position is based on a 40-hour work week with a pay rate of TBD.Pay Rate: TBD based on qualifications and experience. This position is part of the Public Employees Union (PEU) collective bargaining agreement. The individual in this position will work out of 120 North G Street, Lake Worth Beach, FL 33460. In addition, this position offers:Vacation and Sick Leave Accruals14 Paid HolidaysCity of Lake Worth Beach Medical Benefits that include Life Insurance, Dental and Vision coverageRetirement Plan JOB SUMMARY:A skilled technical position responsible for the installation and maintenance of the City's information technology systems, including personal computers, printers, scanners, and other computer equipment. Work is performed in accordance with established schedules and under the general supervision of the Information Technology Manager and is reviewed while in progress through observation and achieved results. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Serves as first point of contact for users with PC hardware and peripheral as well as software issues, including, but not limited to hardware repair requests, software updates, MS Office products, CentralSquare Technologies Enterprise Resource Planning software (ERP), and other user applications.Troubleshoots issues with users in all applications and is one of the liaisons between vendor application support and the City's end users.Assist with the loading and configuring of all personal computer software and hardware peripherals.Keeps current on personal computer software updates and informs management and department members as changes may affect personal computer and network operations.Maintains, configures and provides user support for the city's telecommunication systems, including phone systems, cell phones, internet, and other related services.Install and test software including operating systems, office applications, virus protection, and any other applications used by the city. Perform Updates to desktops and laptops.Provide input for the technical specifications for the purchase of new hardware and software and evaluate proposals for the implementation of hardware and software.Manage and maintain inventory of IT assets. Manage an Active Directory Domain. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:Knowledge of the installation, maintenance, and repair of computer hardware and related equipment.Knowledge of various operating systems including Windows 11.Knowledge of various software packages including Microsoft Office products and Adobe products.Knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory.Skill in troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing hardware and software problems.Skill in the installation and maintenance of computer hardware and software.Skill in oral and written communication.Able to communicate orally in the English language with customers, clients, and the public using a telephone, face to face, one to one setting, or using data network systems.Able to produce written documents in the English language with clearly organized thoughts using proper sentence construction, punctuation, and grammar.Able to act independently and logically to implement policies of supervisor. Able to comprehend and make inferences from written material. Able to learn job-related material primarily through oral instruction and observation. This learning takes place mainly in an on-the-job training setting. Able to enter data or information into a PC or other keyboard device.Able to effectively manage multiple tasks at once.Able to maintain effective working relationships with co-workers and staff at all levels of the organization. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:Graduation from high school, or a GED from a properly accredited institution of learning. Associate degree in computer sciences highly desired but not required. Eighteen (18) months of documented experience supporting end-users in a Microsoft Windows Enterprise domain. Must have been employed in a position supporting end-users in a Microsoft Windows Enterprise domain for the past six months. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:Depending on functional area of assignment, tasks involve the periodic performance of moderately physically demanding work, usually involving lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of moderately heavy objects and materials (up to 50 pounds). Tasks that require moving objects of significant weight require the assistance of another person and/or use of proper techniques and moving equipment. Tasks may involve some climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling. All full-time employees are considered critical in response to emergency situations and may be deemed essential as needed depending on the situation. Employees in this position will be required to complete the FEMA Incident Command System (ICS) Certification Levels 100, 200, 700 and 800 within the first six months of employment.
