Take the next step in your career and join a winning team!Position SummaryUnder the direction of the Service Manager, a Mechanic will perform service and repair procedures on truck-mounted vacuum equipment both in the shop and in the field. This position requires travel to make field service and repair calls from time to time and to attend any required training. The work related to the chassis is limited to performing routine PM inspections and requirements for fuels, fluids, and lubrication.Essential Functions of the JobTroubleshoot, diagnose, and repair mechanical, hydraulic and electrical systemsEffectively read and interpret electrical and hydraulic schematicsPerform all scheduled PM inspections of chassis, vacuum body, hydraulic, electrical, air and water systemsConduct all repairs within DOT or OEM standards and service to return rental equipment Ready to Rent statusPerforms and document check in and check out inspections of fleet equipmentMaintain and organize shop and storage areas ensuring proper storage of flammable itemsKnowledge, Skills and, Abilities (KSA's)Possess solid understanding of the function, operation, and maintenance of truck-mounted vacuum equipment preferredMust demonstrate solid understanding of mechanical and hydraulic system and electrical troubleshootingAbility to read, analyze and interpret technical data, drawings, and schematicsAbility to administer DOT inspectionsPossess basic computer skillsMust be organized and possess the ability to multi-taskDemonstrate excellent communication skills with the ability to work as part of a teamBe self-motivated, shows complete accountability, is timely in all assignmentsMust own and supply a basic set of hand tools and storage box.
