We serve customers around the world in commercial and military aviation, power generation, the marine industry, rotary wing, and unmanned aerial vehicles.SummaryPerform all aspects necessary for the machining processes used in the manufacturing of company products. Equipment likely to include 5-axis CNC creep feed grinders, conventional EDMs, and 5-axis turn/mills. Machinists planned to be cross-trained to run these varying types of machines and be responsible for multiple machines running simultaneously.Duties/ResponsibilitiesUnder general supervision:

• Operates manual and CNC machines to perform completely and independently specific operations as outlined in the methods and process sheets. Learns machines for other processes and programs.
• Change, set and adjust precision tools as required
• Make minor adjustments of feeds and speeds on the assigned machine.
• Consistently maintain specific tolerances and accurately perform dimensions
• Check parts using specified gages or check parts using furnished fixtures to see that dimensions are being maintained.
• Perform routine maintenance checks, reporting improper machine function and/or check parts not being held to the proper dimensions
• Maintain a neat and orderly work area.
• Follow all applicable safety rules and precautions.

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 3 years relevant experience or technical or vocational schoolPreferred qualifications
    • 5+ years relevant experience
    • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
    • Knowledge of shop geometry and trigonometry.
    • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals and blueprints.
    • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
    • Ability to speak effectively before employees in the organization.
    • Have working knowledge of the machinability of metals.
    • Demonstrate a good mechanical aptitude.
