Job Details - Phoebe Putney Health System in Albany GA is in need of a day shift MRI tech for a 13 week contract.
Job Requirements - 1 year of MRI experience, okay with a first time traveler
- Must have experience with Siemens and prefer Philips experience
- 1 year of experience, prefer travel experience and Level II trauma experience is a huge plus- run more like a level I
Schedule Information - Shifts & Scheduling: generally 4-10s
- Shifts start times are anywhere between 8a and 12p
- Weekend Requirements: Will only work weekends if hired for a weekend shift
- Average # of scans/studies per day: 30 per day due to long protocols
- Weekend Requirements: High volume of inpatients 10-14 per day and 4-8 outpatients per day on weekends. Typically only do outpatients without contrast
- Holiday Requirements: if it is on their rotation
- Shifts & Scheduling: Do you allow self-scheduling? Block scheduling?
Unit Specific Information - How many scanners/rooms does this department have? A total of 4 scanners, agency will staff 2
- Also, have a mobile unit- could be 2 travelers covering but will have someone in house that is perm
- Common types of imaging/studies performed & Job Duties: Musculoskeletal imagining, basic neuro, a lot of abd/pelvis, rad onc, breast imaging
- Will see pacer and anesthesia patients as well as ICU and NICU patients
- Experience or 'Must have' skills: prefer travel experience and Level II trauma experience is a huge plus- run more like a level I
- EMR &/or PACS (Picture Archive & Communication System: software & hardware) do they use: PACS: McKesson or Changed health Care, Meditech
- Department Specific Equipment (GE, Phillips, Siemens): Siemens and will be getting a Philips scanner
- Is there a Radiology Supervisor or Lead Tech on each shift? Will have a full time supervisor. May not always have a lead tech, but a senior tech will be scheduled if not
- Do they use RRAs (Registered Radiology Assistants)? Will be hiring RAAs soon, starting interviews end of Feb 2023
- Radiologist in-house? Radiologists are in house during the day time- most are for IR but are willing to help out. Majority of MRI readers are remote.
- How many shifts of unit/department specific orientation? 1-2 weeks
