Ensures compliance with applicable federal and state laws, policies, procedures, standards, and guidelines. Work involves regular contact with governmental officials, City staff, vendors, contractors, and the public, and private sector agencies. - -This position requires an experienced, professional capable of carrying out most assignments typical of the profession with limited guidance or review. This level would be considered a promotional level and attainable by any incumbents in a work group who demonstrate the necessary knowledge, ability, and performance. -Supervision ReceivedWorks under very general supervision. Depending on organization structure, may work independently with responsibility for an assigned function or program. -Major Duties and Responsibilities - Reviews contractors' daily journals for comparison to inspectors' daily journals for accuracy and congruency to avoid any conflicts when contractors are preparing applications for payment to the City for delivered work
- Plan review of designs, development of layouts, sketches, plans, specifications, estimates and contracts
- Utilizes project management principles in initiating, planning, executing, monitoring, controlling and closing complex transportation projects.
- Monitors consultants' progress and work quality; checks invoices and associated documents; prepares supplemental agreements.
- Negotiates fees, scope of work and monitors consultant design contracts.
- Makes on-site engineering reviews, analyses, tests and provides technical support.
- Plans out projects by creating a comprehensive set of plans that will enable the project team to deliver the project objectives. -
- Monitors and controls project efforts by reviewing project work results and comparing them to planned results. -
