We're seeking a certified Cytotechnologist II who will support Emory Healthcare's mission of clinical care, education, and research by demonstrating the core values of excellence, caring, and integrity.
Shifts Available: - PRN, varied shifts
- Part-Time, 9am - 4:30pm, Tuesday / Thursday / Friday
- Full-Time, 8am - 4:30pm, Monday - Friday Location Available:
- Emory University Hospital Midtown Responsibilities:
- Prepares and stains cytologic material for routine procedures; evaluates examination results for validity and reports results as prescribed by standard procedures.
- May prepare specimens for cytopathologic examination.
- Evaluates cytologic material for carcinoma or other diagnoses and completes all daily assigned screening.
- Reviews quality of staining and the adequacy of the specimen to support an adequate diagnosis.
- In complex cases, evaluates all information available and determines whether analysis results should be released, repeated, or referred to a pathologist.
- Assists the Pathologist and Radiologist on fine needle aspiration biopsy procedures and is competent in giving an adequacy assessment.
- Performs other related duties as required.
