The CableTechSupportTM Services was established with the mission statement of Re3TM; toRespond, Rectify, and Restore the electrical systems using Reinforced, Resilient, and Reliable Solutions. Thislarge engineering team provides the industry's best-in-class consultation and technical support. We arelooking for a subject matter expert with in-depth experience in commercial, residential(retail), and mega datacenter markets to be able to develop novel and value-added wire and cable innovations, and initiate fieldservice solutions to increase safety, eliminate pain points, and minimize total project cost.The responsibilities include aligning engineering activities with company objectives, driving the spec in thecommercial, residential, and infrastructure market segment.This subject matter expert will interface directly with contractors and electricians and lead innovation effortswhile partnering with agents, distributors, inside & outside sales, operation, and product management todeliver value-adding solutions to electricians, general & electrical contractors, engineers, commercial projectowners, and EPCs. The individual must have commercial experience and be proficient in ideating, designing,and implementing commercial-scale service solutions.Key Responsibilities1. Power innovation to offer the best technical and value-added product and system solutions forcommercial, residential, and infrastructure.2. Identify user's technical pain points during the life cycle and translate them into new engineeringinnovations for products, tools, software, and field solutions including patented products. Summarize productfeatures, functionalities, code compliance, and long-term performance and submit ideas into the Stage-Gateprocess.3. Review complex electrical wiring designs in AC or DC, including accessories and connectivity with theoverall system, to provide the best-in-class installation procedures, innovative hands-on solutions, and fieldtesting.4. Initiate and launch novel service solutions such as Southwire's cable repair kits, emergency nitrogenpurging services, labor-saving estimators, calculator tools, and GO vs. NO-GO testing recommendations.5. Utilize extensive application knowledge of the electrical power system and Voice of the Customer tocreate smart web-based calculators, engineering whitepapers, and technical reference documents onsouthwire.com/services/cabletech-support-services.6. Market CableTechSupportTM Services' by generating CableTechTalks customer training videos,authoring Re3TM engineering whitepapers, publishing magazine articles, hosting live webinars, and serving askeynote speakers at trade shows and conferences.7. Develop sustainable solutions that drive efficiencies in the field to accelerate growth and help Southwire gain market share. 8. Serve as an in-house applications engineering SME to build organizational capability internally and externallyEducation, Experience, and SkillsRequiredMinimum Education Level: Bachelor'sSpecialized Degree: EngineeringYears of Experience: 10+Field of Expertise: Research and development, application support and/or product engineering experience in the Wire and Cable, Power, Utility, Manufacturing, or Electrical Industry is required. Hands-on experience with cable installation, splice & terminations, and connectors is a must.PreferredMinimum Education Level: Master'sSpecialized Degree: EngineeringYears of Experience: 15+Preferred Field of Expertise: Extensive field experience in residential, commercial, telecom, or utility installations is highly desirable.
