We seek highly motivated individuals with the dedication, integrity, and creative spirit needed to thrive in our organization.As a part of the Medical Affairs team at Azurity, the Manager will support the execution of all Medical Affairs initiatives, including Scientific Communications and Publication Plan development and execution. The Manager will support the execution of the digital engagement strategy for Medical Affairs, including the management of external vendors. Additionally, he/she will develop summaries to update senior leadership on key Scientific Communications activities. The Manager will also work closely with our Franchise Management Portfolio Heads to ensure accurate and timely assessments of life cycle management opportunities and business development reviews for potential assets that Azurity may acquire. He/she will report to the Senior Director of Medical Affairs and will work closely with other Azurity teams including but not limited to Commercial, Business Development, Clinical, Regulatory, Technical Operations, Legal, and Finance.Responsibilities - Effectively communicate and proactively lead the dissemination of evidence generation activities from the Medical Affairs organization, including the development and execution of Azurity's publication strategy.
- Lead cross-functional team meetings and drive the production of scientific communications materials, often under tight timelines.
- Ensure that submitted materials are accurate, compliant, balanced, and of the highest quality.
- Develop, manage and provide input on several key programs/new initiatives within Azurity Medical Affairs, including manuscripts/publications, patient-focused materials, training materials, payer market materials, content for Advisory Board/Steering Committee meetings, dossier development, HEOR, Sales training programs, Azurity policies/SOPs and other materials required for Medical launch excellence.
- Manage external vendors and ensure that all materials are developed in a cost-effective manner and are consistent with the strategic thinking for a given product.
- Serve as Medical Affairs lead on all product reviews/assessments for lifecycle management (LCM) opportunities led by the Franchise Portfolio Management Heads and provide recommendations on behalf of Medical Affairs for all LCM review requests.
- Evaluate the established safety and efficacy profile of potential pipeline assets and FDA-approved product acquisition targets of strategic interest to Azurity.
- Educate/train/present key scientific medication and disease state information to internal (e.g., Sales, Marketing, Managed Care) and external stakeholders (e.g., health care practitioners, key thought leaders, advocacy groups, payers) for Azurity products.Qualifications and Education Requirements
- Doctoral-level qualification (PharmD, PhD, MD) preferred, Master's in a related field and 3+ years relevant experience may substitute.
- A thorough understanding of the science and medical standards of care are essential.
- Successful completion of pre-employment screening.
- 3+ years pharmaceutical or bio-tech industry experience.
- Ability to communicate highly scientific and technical medical information.
- Excellent communication / interpersonal skills / passion for excellence.
- Strong writing skills with demonstrated medical communications experience preferred.
- Demonstrated leadership ability.
- Effective administrative / organizational skills.
