Does the charge nurse take an assignment?: Yes- Are there nurse aids on this unit/Ratios: Yes, 12 - 1- RT Equipment (vents, Cpap, BiPap, etc): Nasal, face masks, bipap- Are there Tele/Monitor Techs on this unit? No, it is monitored on the 3rd floor - Are RNs required to read their own strips? No- What brand are the tele monitors?: Space Lab- Shifts & Scheduling (Do you allow self-scheduling? The weekend requirement for 5th floor St. Joseph s is 6 weekend shifts per 6 week schedule period and weekend is Saturday and Sunday. The weekend shifts may or may not be together. Travelers can self-schedule however, they may not get that the exact schedule they put in. The manager will even out the schedule and move staff to ensure there are consistent numbers for each shift for the 6 week schedule.
