JOB GOAL: Support the Superintendent by providing leadership and direction in all areas related to school district finance and budgeting. Demonstrated experience, education, or expertise in education, administration, finance, and governmental accounting, including rules, regulations, and ethics 2. Proficiency in Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) 3. Bachelor's Degree (or greater) in a related field is required 4. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license is preferred 5. Minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience, ideally in public school finance and accounting 6. Proven leadership skills in collaborating with staff, parents, students, and community members 7. Strong public relations and presentation abilities, particularly in a K-12 educational setting RESPONSIBILITIES (including but not limited to): Serve as a key member of the Superintendent's cabinet Align financial programs, goals, and initiatives with the district's strategic direction Build and maintain effective community relations and communicate financial concerns to stakeholders Collaborate with the Director of Operations and Superintendent on enrollment projections Provide financial guidance to the Superintendent and assist in school finance management Oversee purchasing processes, including supplies, equipment, instructional materials, and construction costs Oversee the preparation and management of the district's annual operating budget Manage the collection, safeguarding, investment, and distribution of district funds Coordinate the annual external audit process Please see job description on our website www.cdaschools.org for complete details on responsibilities, qualifications, and essential functions.
