Replenish and merchandise produce, participate in regional purchasing and promotions programs. Monitor inventory control, perform tasks according to WFM standards. Assist in organizing promotional displays, maintain OTS standards. - Purchase and replenish produce through proper procedures.
- Monitor and act on open PO reports for purchases and credits.
- Control spoilage and shrink, achieve turn goals, participate in inventory.
- Complete spoilage, sampling, temperature, and sweep worksheets as required.
- Maximize sales potential through effective stocking and merchandising procedures.
- Ensure timely and accurate orders for inventory turns.
- Oversee customer special order procedure.
- Analyze and control product transfers, waste, and spoilage.
- Support leadership in conducting inventories.
- Maintain financial profitability by meeting purchasing and sales targets.
- Arrive on time, work all scheduled shifts, and attend required trainings and meetings.
- Provide excellent customer service, model suggestive selling techniques.
- Follow established procedures, including Weights and Measures, health and sanitation, and safe work practices.
- Extensive produce product knowledge, including production, distribution, seasonal availability, advances, and trends.
- Familiarity and/or willingness to learn about products, nutritional information, and other areas of study.
- Working knowledge and application of all produce-related merchandising expectations.
- Demonstrate a desire to grow with the Produce team.
- Ability to educate team on product knowledge and convey enthusiasm.
- Strong basic math skills.
- Knowledge and ability to use computer programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and ordering systems.
- Strong to excellent communication skills and willingness to work as part of a team.
- 12+ months retail experience.
