GENERAL FUNCTION: Approves (or rejects) most complex and sizable loans within approved limits, and advises credit and loan personnel on the company''s overall policy. Directly manages Portfolio Managers and Credit Analysts.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Approves or rejects most complex loans of up to $25 Million credit limit, where difficult questions of policy or credit risk may be involved.
* Advise credit and loan personnel on the company''s overall policy, noting significant trends and recommending policy changes if necessary.
* Provides underwriting oversight for departmental loan requests consistent with Bancorp standards.
* Provides necessary overages for ongoing maintenance of credit exposure as applicable.
* Reviews various reports (borrowing base certificate, past due, overdraft, ALSR''s, etc.) on a weekly or monthly basis to monitor Affiliate Bank credit quality and performance.
* Reviews credit packages for those loans approved within the Affiliate Bank''s lending limits.
* Provides feedback to the Affiliate Bank, when necessary, to ensure consistent application of Bancorp lending standards.
* Reviews periodic Bancorp credit quality reports to assess assigned affiliates adherence to Bancorp goals and objectives.
* Provides guidance where necessary to ensure compliance with standards.
* Attends various meetings including administrative loan meetings, portfolio review meetings, etc.
* Recommends, when appropriate, credits to be turned over to workout for collection.
* Acts as a liaison for the affiliates in dealing with Bancorp or other Credit departmental issues.
* Determines reporting needs in Affiliate Banks and recommend solutions to improve efficiency and accuracy of completing various tasks/reports.
* Provides conduit for information to the Senior Credit Officer.
* Represents Bancorp in terms of high-level customer interaction as well as community affairs.
* Provides ongoing management and coaching for assigned staff of Credit professionals, to include Portfolio Managers and Credit Analysts.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Recruits, hires, supervises Portfolio Managers and Credit Analysts. Responsible for the performance management, corrective counseling, and administration of compensation for assigned team.
