All tasks are completed under the supervision of a registered pharmacist. The technician shall work very closely with the pharmacist and the nursing staff to provide quality patient care. This position will be primarily based in the Pharmacy in our Physician's office. However, you will have an opportunity to cross train and float to the Hospital Pharmacy and Long-Term Care positions. This position is a day shift position, Monday through Friday, with every other Saturday rotation (8:30 am to 12pm), no Sunday's or Holidays. We are very flexible when scheduling regarding vacations and work schedule. Great easy-going staff and patient population. Very professional but fun place to work. Responsibilities: - Prepare the pharmacy for opening.
- Provide courteous, friendly service to patients, visitors, and staff
- Enter prescriptions into the computer promptly and accurately
- Fill prescriptions timely and accurately
- Ring customers' purchases and collect payment.
- Ask patients every time if they require information from the pharmacist (pharmaceutical care and medication counseling)
- Place drug orders
- Check in orders
- Run daily audit, narcotic audit and charge posting reports
- Return drugs when the par level is high, or the drug is not moving as quickly as expected
- Accurately perform the daily deposit
- Orders drugs when par level is low
- Checks for expired drugs monthly
- Assist in quality improvement and pillar goal data collection
- Fill stock requisitions from other departments
- Assist in inventory management
- Create stock requisitions for pharmacy supplies from Central Supply Dept
- Restock pharmacy supplies (vials, bags, etc.)
- Take mail to administration building on a regular basis
- Adhere to HIPAA guidelines and confidentiality
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Makes constructive recommendations for enhancing pharmacy services
- Assist pharmacy manager in implementing new programs
- Perform other related work as requested or required
