Based in Peoria, IL, you will play a crucial role in shaping the future of our engineering solutions.Essential Job Functions/Responsibilities: - Collaborate and Innovate: Work as a vital team member, bringing your expertise to support the structural needs of industrial sites and other internal sectors. Your contributions will help integrate structural design seamlessly with civil, rail, mechanical, and architectural disciplines, both within and outside of Hanson.
- Engineering Excellence: Utilize advanced software for complex engineering calculations and design, ensuring efficient project completion. Your analytical skills will be essential as you conduct thorough reviews of calculations, specifications, and construction plans.
- Lead Project Development: Take charge of project administration and execution, from proposal development to site investigations and construction document preparation. Your leadership will guide projects from conception to successful completion, with a keen focus on quality and client satisfaction.
- Quality Assurance: Oversee the production of top-tier deliverables-plans, specifications, reports, and cost estimates-ensuring they meet project scope, budget, and timelines across multiple concurrent projects.
- Client Engagement: Serve as a primary contact for structural engineering services at Hanson, building strong relationships with existing clients and actively pursuing new opportunities to expand our market presence.
- Strategic Growth: Contribute to the advancement of the Building Structural Discipline by identifying industry trends and client needs, positioning Hanson as a frontrunner in innovative structural engineering solutions.
- Mentorship and Development: Inspire and nurture junior and mid-level staff, helping to develop future project managers and design leads. Your guidance will be key to strengthening our team and enhancing service delivery.
- Financial Insight: Prepare and review calculations and estimates of probable construction costs, supporting sound financial planning and project feasibility.Qualifications/Technical Skills:
- Essential Software Proficiency: Strong experience with Revit is a must, along with familiarity in AutoCAD, Plant 3-D, and Navisworks. MicroStation knowledge is a plus.
- Structural Design Expertise: Proficiency with structural design software packages, such as Risa or Tekla Structural Designer, is essential.
- Technical Savvy: Advanced skills in the MS Office Suite are required to support effective project management.Soft Skills:

- Extensive Experience: 10-20 years of structural engineering experience is required, especially in industrial structural design (e.g., equipment foundations, work platforms, structural additions).
- Professional Credentials: Registration as a Professional Engineer (P.E.) is required; registration as a Structural Engineer (S.E.) or eligibility to sit for the 16-hour NCEES Structural exam is necessary.
