Job Responsibilities Direct a program of recruitment, screening, selection, employment and onboarding/orientation for all licensed and non-licensed educational, office and support staff in collaboration with department directors. Work with the office manager and supervise the Lincoln school bookkeeper overseeing all financials. Ensure compliance with all laws, policies and protocols related to hiring, interviewing, background checks, mandated trainings and licensure/certification. Stay abreast of new laws, regulations, trends and other topics related to human resources and school finance. Direct a program of personnel administration that addresses salary and benefits, attendance, time off, evaluation/supervision and retirement (IMRF and TRS). Maintain complete and accurate records. Work in collaboration with administrators to create and update job descriptions to ensure that the duties and skill sets are clearly defined, aligned and optimize productivity. Develop and maintain employee handbook. Process all aspects of employee information updates (hires, transfers, terminations, etc.). Maintain and organize all personnel department documents, including individual personnel files. Assist with creating and updating all procedural documentation related to hiring, interviewing, background checks, I-9s, employee files and any other reporting as assigned. Help staff and administration navigate personnel issues that arise and optimistically and creatively problem solve to identify solutions that lead to an emotionally safe, healthy and cohesive work setting.
