• Common diagnoses: Sepsis, General Medical, General Surgical, Stroke (TNK), DKA, PNA, ETOH withdrawal. Post cath recovery- radial/femoral sites
  Job Details
  • Hospital in Illinois is in need of a traveling ICU nurse! Candidate will work 12 hour shifts for 13 weeks starting ASAP! ACLS and BLS certifications are required.
    Job Requirements
    • ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
    • IL license required to submit
    • Experience: 2+ years ICU
    • Expectation for ICU nurse to run codes
    • Experience with Meditech is a plus
    • Experience with Code Blue Command RN and phlebotomy are a plus
      Schedule Information
      • 12 hour shifts (0700-1930 or 1900-0730)
      • Scheduled on shifts most in need
      • Staffing is census-based
      • Weekend Requirements: Every other weekend
      • Holiday Requirements: Holiday Rotation
        Unit Specific Information
        • # Beds: 8 ICU
        • Nurse:Patient Ratios: 1:2-3 some patients are lower acuity
        • Common titratable: Levo, Neo, Propofol, Fentanyl, Precedex, Insulin, TNK etc. Do some mixing of medications
        • Are RNs required to titrate drips: Yes
        • Charge Nurse/House Supervisor: Charge Nurse takes Assignment, Nursing Supervisor, patient free
        • Are there nurse aids on this unit: Care Support/Unit Secretary/CNA when acuity warrants
        • Hospitalist or Intensivist in house: Yes, hospitalist 24/7 (In house during the day)
        • RT Equipment: Yes
        • Are there Tele on this unit: RN's responsible for strips. No monitor tech. GE Carescape and Airstrip Technology
        • Floating Requirements: Yes, MedSurg, Tele, ER - full patient load
        • Scrub Color: Any color professional scrubs
          Additional Details
          • Unit is primarily primary care nursing
          • Department specific orientation: Yes, 2 12 hour shifts
