Our global customer base includes major engine and airframe OEMs, tier suppliers and aircraft operators.DescriptionThis position reports directly to the Maintenance Manager and indirectly to the Shift Production Managers and is responsible for maintaining all machinery, equipment, and facilities at Rexnord Downers Grove location. We are looking for an experienced Electrical and Mechanical maintenance technician. Duties may include preventative maintenance (PMs), pipe fitting, welding, light machining, electrical or mechanical repairs or equipment, installing, aligning, assembly of new equipment and repairs to the facility such as lighting, plumbing etc. Work will be performed in all departments of the facility, including turning, grinding heat treat, plating, assembly and support equipment throughout the plant. This position is required to follow the proper safety procedures as well as strictly adhere to all documented procedures around the processing of parts. This Position is also responsible for contributing to the improvement of safety, quality, productivity, cost, and 5S in all production areas.Key Accountabilities - Make modifications to controls and accurately document print changes to reflect the changes made. This includes diagnosing the problem in a timely manner, efficiently making the repair, utilizing machine diagnostics, disassembling the components, requisitioning new parts and equipment, repairing or replacing broken parts, adjusting functional parts as necessary, cleaning and lubricating, and inspecting repair when completed.
- Assemble, install and or repair wiring, electrical and electronic components, and installation of new equipment to power sources.
- Align and balance new equipment after installation
- Troubleshoots and repairs facility equipment and production machines across all areas and departments of this facility and works with associates at all levels to support manufacturing.
- May apply appropriate welding processes to join, surface, fabricate or repair parts of metal or other weld able materials, as specified by work orders, blueprints, sketches or charts.
- Maintain inventory for repair parts, assemble lists for parts that need to be ordered for repair and look up and call suppliers to get availability and cost of parts.
- Record equipment repairs, both PM's and corrective reports and utilize our CMMS.
- Develop and perform preventative maintenance work orders for all plant equipment.
- Trains others on equipment preventive maintenance (PM's), pipe fitting, welding, machining, electrical, mechanical, installing, aligning assembly of new equipment, and repairs to the facility, such as support equipment, lighting, plumbing, HVAC, plating and heat treat equipment in their respected departments.
- Trains others on processes and daily maintenance requests to complete required corrective and PM work orders that might be in the day's schedule.Training must be done using the sites (CMMS)
- Promote safety awareness and follows all safety standards, procedures, and policies set by this organization, and abide by OSHA and other regulatory agencies.
- Strictly adhere to all documented work procedures
- Work productively and ensure timely flow of orders through the department
- Demonstrate continued improvement in the areas of quality and productivity
- Actively contribute to the improvement of 5S in the department
- Actively participate in cross training program to improve and broaden skill setQualifications

- High school diploma or GED required.
- Proof of technical training in electronic systems, a certified training programor have completed a 4 year training program in related fields
- 10 years of experience working in an industrial manufacturing environment repairing production machines
- Must show proficient knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems and the use of hand tools, power tools, and use of testing equipment such as a VOM
- Must understand blue prints, schematics, specifications, instructions, operation manuals / manufacturers manuals, specifications to perform scheduled and emergency repairs
- Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair. Dmg Mori, Okuma, Okamoto grinding equipment, brands such as DMG Mori, Okuma Okamoto, Toyoda. 480 volt ,120 volt, low voltage, PLC's
- Must work as part of a team within the department and production areas
- Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures
- Resolves most questions and problems utilizing all resources available and refers only the most complex issues to higher levels
- Works under minimal supervision
- Attends training courses to improve skills to perform repairs on newer machines and equipment
