<span>Modis is currently seeking a <B>VMware Engineer</B> for an exceptional DIRECT HIRE job opportunity with our non-profit healthcare client, located in Chicago&rsquo;s West side (Pilsen Neighborhood)<br>&nbsp;<br>This <B>VMware Engineer</B> will be joining our client&rsquo;s infrastructure team as a virtualization specialist, handling the day to day tasks for building out, implementing, troubleshooting and supporting a VMWare ESXi / vSphere environment for 500+ Windows servers. <br>&nbsp;<br><B>The day to day tasks for this VMware Engineer will include:</B><br>&nbsp;<br>- Providing day to day support for a medium-scale VMware environment, consisting of around 500 Windows 2003/2008 R2/2012 servers<br>- Conducting P2V conversions for approx. 150 physical Windows 2008 R2 Servers, using VMware ESXi &nbsp;5.1, vConverter, vCenter, vSphere, etc.<br>- Rebuilding out of date Windows 2003 Servers in Windows 2008, and virtualizing the platforms.<br>- Providing peripheral Systems Administration as it relates to Server Virtualization (Active Directory, EMC Storage, Exchange O365, TCP/IP Troubleshooting, DNS/DHCP Networking)<br>- Assisting in virtualization for the Storage and backup/recovery solutions (EMC)<br>- Creating change management documentation and securing the necessary approval for all processes.<br>- Monitoring and troubleshooting issues within the virtual server environment at a Tier 2/ 3 level.<br>- Using performance optimization tools such as Netscaler Load Balancers to ensure high availability and optimum performance.<br>&nbsp;<br><B>REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL SKILLS</B><br>- Required Associate&rsquo;s Degree with 5+ years IT experience<br>- Microsoft MCSE or VMWare VCP Certifications are preferred<br>- Specialized background in Vmware Virtualization<br>- Advanced VMware ESX/ESXi 5.x+, vCenter, vSphere<br>- Strong Administration skills with medium-sized Windows environments (2003/2008R2/2012)<br>&nbsp;<br>Our client is a nationally accredited institution that offers a flexible work environment, a friendly work culture and exceptional career growth opportunities<br>&nbsp;<br>Compensation offered is at the $75,000+ range, with the addition of a competitive benefits package including PPO Medical/Dental/Vision benefits, paid vacation, paid holidays / federal holidays, and a retirement savings plan with employer contributions. <br>&nbsp;<br>If you are interested in this or other Systems Administration / Engineering job opportunities available through Modis, please apply directly by sending your resume and contact information, or visit www.modis.com to browse all of our open opportunities (updated daily!)<br>&nbsp;<br>&nbsp;<br>&nbsp;<br>&nbsp;<br></span> More...
