The Associate Director of Development is a strategic leader who drives the growth of Community Counseling Centers of Chicago (C4) by leading grants acquisition and corporate partnerships. This position plays a pivotal role in securing funding from foundations, government agencies, and corporations while cultivating meaningful relationships with funders and partners to advance C4's mission of providing compassionate, trauma-informed mental health care.The Associate Director will oversee grant writing and reporting, manage strategic partnerships, and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment with C4's vision and funding needs.Key Responsibilities1. Grant Strategy and Proposal Development:

  • Conduct research to identify grant opportunities aligned with C4's mission and programs.
  • Develop and write compelling grant proposals, sponsorship pitches, and corporate funding requests.
  • Collaborate with program and finance staff to prepare budgets and ensure alignment with funding priorities.
  • Monitor trends in grant-making and proactively identify new opportunities.2. Grant Management and Reporting:
    • Oversee the grant submission process, ensuring compliance with all guidelines and deadlines.
    • Maintain a database of grants, including submission and reporting timelines.
    • Collaborate with program managers and finance staff to track expenditures, outcomes, and deliverables for grant-funded programs.
    • Ensure timely and accurate submission of grant reports to funders.3. Corporate Partnerships:
      • Identify and cultivate relationships with corporate partners to support C4's programs and initiatives.
      • Create tailored partnership proposals and sponsorship pitches to align with corporate priorities.
      • Represent C4 at meetings, conferences, and networking events to establish and grow corporate partnerships.
      • Develop strategies for engaging corporate stakeholders and fostering long-term collaboration.4. Strategic Planning and Collaboration:
        • Collaborate with the Director of Development to set annual fundraising targets and develop strategies to achieve them.
        • Work closely with leadership and program staff to align funding strategies with organizational goals and community needs.
        • Provide regular updates and reports on grant and partnership activities to the executive team and board of directors.5. Compliance and Accountability:
          • Ensure adherence to all grant agreements, including reporting requirements and budget restrictions.
          • Prepare and submit timely and accurate grant reports as per funder guidelines.
          • Work with finance staff to monitor grant expenditures and ensure compliance with funder expectations.6. Relationship Management:
            • Build and maintain strong relationships with funders, partners, and community stakeholders.
            • Communicate regularly with grantors and corporate sponsors to provide updates on C4's programs and impact.7. Supervisory Responsibilities:
              • Supervise and mentor development interns, providing guidance on projects such as donor prospecting, grant writing, and communications.
              • Support in overseeing the work of junior staff or volunteers, ensuring quality and alignment with departmental goals.
              • Foster a collaborative and supportive environment that encourages professional growth and innovation.Qualifications
                • Bachelor's degree in Nonprofit Management, Communications, Business Administration, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
                • 5-7 years of experience in grant writing, fundraising, or development, with demonstrated success in securing funding from foundations, corporations, and government agencies.
                • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling narratives and presentations.
                • Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with funders, corporate partners, and community stakeholders.
                • Experience managing budgets and tracking outcomes for grant-funded programs.
                • Proficiency with donor management systems (e.g.,Instrumentl, Salesforce, GiveButter) and Microsoft Office Suite.
                • Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
                • Commitment to C4's mission and values, with a focus on equity and community impact.
