The ideal candidate has a solid chemistry or chemical engineering background with specific strengths in project management, communication, product research and development, product testing, decision-making, customer relationships and coordination, and technical requirements definition to develop and manage production capability of Navy formulated epoxy polyamide coatings. This position will work closely with HII internal Divisions and external customer organizations in a "client-facing" capacity. This individual must be able to work with technical experts to define requirements and manage resources efficiently. Provides onsite administrative and production management duties during all phases of coating production, storage and delivery.Oversees and manages the operational aspects of production and serves as liaison between program management, production team, and line management. Reviews status and budgets; manages schedules and prepares status reports. Assesses production issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client satisfaction goals and objectives. Develops mechanisms for monitoring efficiency for intervention and problem-solving with project managers, line managers, and clients. - Oversee development and build out of production lab capable of producing Navy-formulated epoxy polyamide coating (MIL-DTL-323467).
- Monitor production rates including timing and cost estimates. Ensures product outputs delivered on schedule and within expected cost.
- Identify, communicate, and resolve lab risks.
- Identify and resolve issues to eliminate or mitigate the occurrence of consequences that may impact production.
- Perform product testing to ensure compliance with MIL specs.
- Conduct Research & Development, testing and evaluation of potential new products; Document findings, reports results.Minimum Qualifications
- 5 years relevant experience with Bachelor's in related field; 3 years relevant experience with Master's in related field; 0 years experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 9 years relevant experience.
- At least three years of experience working within government and/or defense with similar product lines.
- Clearance: Able to obtain and maintain a SECRET security clearance.Physical Requirements
