The Role:
Cognizant is looking for an experienced and innovative Java Architect to serve our diverse base of global clients. As a member of our team, you will build cutting-edge, cloud-based software that powers modern business. Location: Chicago, Illinois
Responsibilities:

• Design, code, and debug Java Spring Boot applications running in AWS, with a front end in React.
  
• Build Java Spring Boot applications processing data from streaming sources (Kafka) and APIs.
  
• Utilize AWS services like ECS, Lambda, Event Bridge, MSK, etc.
  
• Work on real-time transactional systems.
  
• Experience with MongoDB and Oracle.
  
• Exposure to API development through Node (JavaScript).
  
• Understand existing applications and suggest improvements (performance, coding, etc.).
  
• Good front-end knowledge, especially in React.
  
• Knowledge in AWS AppSync, GraphQL language and schemas, GraphQL queries, AppSync API definition, and Mongo aggregate pipelines is a plus.
  
  Required Skills:
  
  
  
  • 16+ years of relevant experience.
    
  • Experience in a technical architect role.
    
  • In-depth knowledge of integrated applications.
    
  • Agile experience is preferred.
    
  • Excellent communication skills.
    
  • Ability to problem-solve complex IT issues.

    The annual salary for this position is between $102,600 - $162,500 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
    This position is also eligible for Cognizant's discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant's applicable plans.
