If you thrive in an environment where your growth and development are encouraged and supported, then Associated Bank may be the right place for you.The Power and Utilities Portfolio Manager supports the Power & Utilities portfolio management group and handles credit coverage for power project finance and utility client relationships, including underwriting, credit monitoring, and portfolio management of new and existing transactions. The Portfolio Manager prepares analyses and conducts credit investigations of routine and more complex credits and prepares and/or assists in the preparation of credit reports for appropriate staff or committees. Assists with account servicing, credit administration, KYC, and documentation. Provides independent support with credit applications, amendments, waivers, research, and statistical analyses. Evaluates financial data to determine the merits of loan requests (including adherence to loan policy).Job Accountabilities - Ensure the portfolio administration and risk management of each Power and Utilities client relationship is in compliance with established Associated Banc-Corp credit policy, procedure and business strategy as well as regulatory guidelines.
- As appropriate to experience, co-manage relationships by analyzing financial data to determine the merits of specific loan requests, and recommends structure as well as managing the client relationship. Develops credit information for use by appropriate staff and committees in making decisions about credit arrangements for new and existing loans.
- Responsible for credit risk and quality of the portfolio. Reviews all pertinent credit and financial information and determines the need for more thorough investigation or additional information. Analyzes information statements and related material and prepares thorough, well-written, and clear credit reports. Prepares summaries, presents facts, and offers opinions concerning creditworthiness. Understands and follows bank guidelines, policies, and procedures for the preparation and presentation of credit information.
- Develops and utilizes computerized spreadsheets, programs, and other automated tools for credit analysis, special projects, or presentations.
- Assists in the preparation of internal research and analysis, provides statistical reports, and verifies information. Prepares and delivers presentations on topics as assigned.
- Maintains expertise in assigned industries or market sectors. Keeps abreast of industry trends and competitive environment.
- Assist with due diligence/analysis with new client relationships and opportunity memos as appropriate, including taking on more responsibility in these new deal processes.
- Assists with credit administration, account servicing, development, packaging, closing, documentation, and monitoring.
- Partner with the Relationship Manager(s) as the point of a contact for the client; acting as a liaison to the Credit Department, the support staff and other internal business partners.
- Participates in community and business functions/groups to ensure a positive image for the bank within the region's marketplace.Education
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics or other related discipline, or equivalent related experience RequiredExperience
- 2-4 years Commercial/Corporate/Commercial Real Estate/Specialized Banking and/or Credit Approval Experience. Prefer power project finance and utility experience. Required
- 1-3 years Extensive experience handling complex credits and more complicated financial analysis Preferred
- 1-3 years Sales and client-facing experience Preferred
- 1-3 years Formal Credit Training Preferred
- 2-4 years Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint) RequiredLicenses and Certifications
- Must have access to reliable transportation and the ability to lawfully drive self, if applicable. by start date Required
