Job Description Position Overview As a member of the Estimating team, you will be responsible for evaluating construction and capital cost of utility-scale wind, solar, and energy storage projects across Invenergy's development portfolio. This on-site position is located at our headquarters in Chicago, Illinois. Responsibilities - Develop full engineering, procurement, and construction costs for utility-scale wind, solar, and energy storage projects.
- Analyze historical procurement and construction costs to identify and implement trends into estimating means and methods.
- Drive progress in building new tools and procedures to ensure that Invenergy's approach to project estimation exceeds industry standards.
- Build relationships with third-party contractors to improve company insight on the renewable industry's best construction practices.
- Visit prospective projects from time to time across the country to align cost estimates with applicable site conditions, including but not limited to: site accessibility, topography, hydrology, and infrastructure presence.
- Collaborate closely with internal engineering and construction teams, as well as key contractors in the market.
- Evaluate contractor proposals to ensure contractor bids align with client expectations.
- Assess project budget validity from preconstruction through contracting and project closeout.
Minimum Qualifications - At least 2 years of construction, estimating, engineering, or similar experience in the energy industry.
- Bachelor's degree in an engineering or related technical discipline including but not limited to Physics, Construction Management, and Environmental Science.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel is essential, given its frequent use in this role.
- Eligible to work in the United States without the need for employer visa sponsorship now or in the future.
