Position Overview: Siemens Mobility is seeking to fill a new Field Service Technician position in Chicago, IL to assist in the coordination and implementation all phases of the service and maintenance activities of our SIEMENS CHARGER locomotives. You will also be responsible for assisting in various maintenance activities with our customers, training their maintenance personnel, and advising on the best maintenance techniques. Setting a safe work environment and proactively supporting our customers is essential to the function. You will interact with the operational, engineering, and dispatching departments for the railroad's safe, cost-effective, and efficient operations. This position will work a daylight shift 6am - 2pm to include a weekend day. Shift hours can change based on customer schedule and maintenance needs. What your day-to-day will look like: - Provide a positive customer service experience by establishing a rapport with Customer management and maintenance facility personnel.
- Ensure the provision of high-quality technical advice to the customer's maintenance workforce to improve the equipment reliability of the Charger fleet.
- Ensure responsiveness and support to finishing the troubleshooting and repairs assigned to service requests.
- Ensure the delivery of ongoing system operation training for the customers.
- Identify Non-conformance issues and improvement recommendations.
- Assists the local customer staff in assigned troubleshooting and repair works.
- Ensure accurate communication between the customer, our Rail Support Center, and the field team when required.
- Give feedback to the team regarding performance, quality, and efficiency issues.
- Work with 3rd party vendors, such as Cummins, to ensure proper operation of vendor components installed on the locomotive.
- Continually progress customers' maintenance practices to support the Charger locomotive as intended by the manual.
