As a Capital One Lead Software Engineer, you'll have the opportunity to be on the forefront of driving a major transformation within Capital One. -Team Description: This team is a full stack team based in Chicago working in the Card Platform group building the Portfolio decisioning Application which enables various business and data intent owners across Card to create and launch campaigns. PD application enables large volumes of batch data to be processed and provides a complete frontend, backend, support and monitoring suite to its users. The team has recently wrapped an effort to Integrate Card Marketing campaigns into the platform and has as an ambitious backlog for the next 2 years to integrate several new capabilities for its users. This team particularly focuses on building various frontend and backend capabilities for our platform users and engages with multiple tech and product teams. You will lead the development of UI (ReactJS, NodeJS), API (python, serverless), data processing (Spark, and analytics (databricks). You will be challenged to problem solve and design solutions and will enjoy a fast-paced and collaborative work environment where new ideas and solutions are encouraged and rewarded.What You'll Do: -

• Lead a portfolio of diverse technology projects and a team of developers with deep experience in distributed microservices, and full stack systems to create solutions that - help meet regulatory needs for the company
• Share your passion for staying on top of tech trends, experimenting with and learning new technologies, participating in internal & external technology communities, mentoring other members of the engineering community
• Collaborate with digital product managers, and deliver robust cloud-based solutions that drive powerful experiences to help millions of Americans achieve financial empowerment
• Utilize programming languages like JavaScript (React, Angular), Python, Python, Java and Go, Open Source RDBMS and NoSQL databases, Container Orchestration services including Docker and Kubernetes, and a variety of AWS tools and services -Basic Qualifications: -
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • At least 4 years of experience in software engineering (Internship experience does not apply)
  • At least 1 year experience with cloud computing (AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud)Preferred Qualifications:
    • Master's Degree
    • 7+ years of experience in at least one of the following: JavaScript, TypeScript, Python, Spark SQL
    • 3+ years of experience with Databricks, Snowflake or similar tools
    • 3+ years of experience with AWS, GCP, Microsoft Azure, or another cloud service
    • 4+ years of experience in open source frameworks
    • 1+ years of people management experience
