Military Veterans are Encouraged to Apply. -R10059832 TGM Operations Manager (Open) Location: Chicago, IL (ASG) - Industrial spec gas How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW? Total Gas Management (TGM) Operations Manager will be responsible for directing and managing a team of approximately (+/-) 14 technicians providing on site cylinder management services to an assigned customer base and geographic area in the Airgas Medical and Life Science markets. In addition to directing and managing the team, the TGM Manager will be responsible for safety performance of the team and delivering the committed TGM performance metrics to the assigned customer base. Position will be based in the Chicago Illinois area of the US, will require you to be located near a major airport and include all responsibilities for direct reports in the area until further expansion requires modification. This position reports to the Director of Operations for Total Gas Management Services. - Implementing and managing the Airgas Safety Management System and IMS across assigned team and customer sites with the goals of zero accidents and zero injuries. Includes minimum of 1 task observation, of each employee, at least 1 time per year minimum.
- Track and maintain all safety training requirements for each associate
- Direct responsibility to work with Airgas regional sales team to increase new opportunities, build the TGM business, provide sales support and present the TGM business to new prospects.
- Managing and directing technician team to deliver committed results to the assigned TGM customer base
- Developing and maintaining team scheduling and team vacation time for assigned customer sites
- Personally providing vacation coverage for assigned team at levels estimated at 60% of total time off days
- Providing vacation coverage consistent with each location's requirements.
- Managing operating expenses of the team within annual budget parameters
- Collaborating with the TGM Management team and the Operations Director-TGM Services along with assigned Airgas account manager to deliver regular customer business reviews
- Implementation of new TGM product and service offers to assigned customer base, including presentations and data packages to support new offers
- Collaboration with TGM Management team and the Operations Director TGM Services on new hires to support TGM site and customer expansion within assigned geographic area.
- Timely submission of all required safety, payroll and associate paperwork for assigned team.
- Clean driving record. The position may include driving of a small non-DOT vehicle in some territories.

- Strong customer service orientation skills to act as a single source for all customer requirements.

- Thorough understanding of cylinder gases and safe handling methods.
- Able to understand and abide by stringent safety rules.
- Annual Immunizations such as TB screening, MMR, Hepatitis,Flu Shot and other standard immunizations are client requirements
- Travel as required by management duties and vacation coverage. Up to 60%
- Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
- Knowledge of record keeping and documentation and be able to utilize the AirGas system to place orders and monitor cylinder balances.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals and ability to compute rate, ratio and percentages
