REPORTS TO: Manager - Engineering DesignSCHEDULE: Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm(some flexibility with hours)Position Summary:The Project Delivery Engineer is responsible for managing the planning, design, and construction of water infrastructure projects. This role ensures projects are executed on time, within budget, and in compliance with regulatory requirements and engineering standards. The engineer collaborates with internal departments, consultants, contractors, and external stakeholders to deliver projects that support the District's long-term infrastructure goals. Key responsibilities include project scoping, budgeting, scheduling, procurement support, construction oversight, and reporting. Additionally, this position is responsible for ensuring the compliance and efficient operations of the District.Essential Functions:Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this position. - Develop and execute project plans that enhance NKWD's infrastructure and ensure a reliable water service for our communities.
- Collaborate with engineers, consultants, and contractors to define project goals, scope, and technical requirements.
- Oversee project budgets, timelines, and resources to deliver high-quality results.Leading Project Delivery from Start to Finish:
- Drive projects forward, anticipating challenges, mitigating risks, and ensuring smooth execution.
- Maintain continuous communication with stakeholders, keeping them informed and engaged throughout the project lifecycle.
- Lead multi-disciplinary teams to deliver projects on time and within budget while maintaining the highest quality standards.Construction Oversight & Compliance:
- Ensure engineering projects adhere to regulatory, environmental, and safety standards.
- Review RFIs, submittals, change orders, and inspection reports to maintain project integrity.
- Work closely with contractors to address technical issues and optimize project performance.Hydraulic Modeling & System Optimization:
- Use hydraulic modeling tools to assess system performance and develop innovative solutions for improvement.
- Provide technical insights and data-driven recommendations to enhance system efficiency and reliability.Budget & Financial Management:
- Monitor project budgets, ensuring costs align with financial plans and minimizing overruns.
- Analyze cost impacts of design changes and propose innovative solutions to keep projects efficient and cost-effective.
- Develop and manage RFPs, RFQs, and bidding processes for engineering services and materials.
- Evaluate vendor proposals, negotiate contracts, and oversee performance to ensure project success.Required Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in project management within public utilities or similar industries.
- Proven experience in managing large capital improvement projects.Licensing/Certifications:
- Valid Driver's License
