Our employees are an investment in our future, so we provide extensive training and support, competitive compensation, and comprehensive benefits.We have an exciting opportunity for a MECHANICAL DESIGN ENGINEER at our PROVIDENCE, RI location.Objectives: Perform design and engineering tasks as required on mechanical and pneumatic measurement products. Work on product improvement teams for improving designs on current catalog products to improve product performance, reduce cost and assembly time. Develop custom engineered solutions based on specific customer applications. Review customer specifications and develop conceptual and/or manufacturing drawings as required using Solidworks CAD Design software. Work closely with sales staff, manufacturing engineers, and customer service to ensure designs meet the customers' requirements and conform to internal processes and standards. Prepare information on these designs for inclusion in technical manuals, when required, to support the use of the product at a customer site.Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering. 3+ years of experience in a mechanical engineering design role with precision components and assemblies. Automation experience is a plus. Strong communication and cross-cultural skills, both written and verbal, required. Familiarity with ASME Y 14.5 and GD&T. An understanding of manufacturing and machining processes. Strong CAD knowledge, preferably SOLIDWORKS. A general knowledge of Metrology practices and applications is a plus. Document management (PDM) and ERP systems experience, a plus. MS Office skills in Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.We want you to succeed.
