Interns are compensated competitively and have the ability to work flexible hours to accommodate class schedules Job SummaryIU McKinney Technology Services, a group of the UITS Client Technology Support division, handles all desktop support, server management, school website, and the exam process. The System Administrator manages servers, system center configuration manager, Jamf pro, group policy, and active directory, related to students and staff of the Robert H. McKinney School of Law.Department-Specific Responsibilities - Gathers better research about SCCM, GPO, and ADUC as part of McKinney's response to IU's overall IT Common Build initiative.
- Creates a test and deployment schedule to align all end users' machines and devices with the IU Common Build.
- Maintains the latest patches on the servers.
- Provides asset management and removal of outdated computers and devices following UITS decommissioning policy and procedures.
- Reviews user permissions and remove deprecated AD groups.
- Uses SCCM, Jamf Pro, GPO and ADUC. QualificationsEDUCATIONRequired
- Currently enrolled as a student at Indiana University.Preferred
- Currently enrolled in Information Technology, Informatics, or other computing/engineering field major or minor degree program.SKILLSRequired
- Demonstrates a general understanding of how data is stored on servers, along with management.
- Demonstrates a general understanding of SCCM, Jamf Pro, GPO, and ADUC.
- Demonstrates knowledge of virtualized computer systems, storage systems, backup systems, network systems, network protocols, and software interfaces.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent listening skills.
- Demonstrates a high degree of professionalism .
- Demonstrates a willingness to do some technical research.
- Strong attention to detail. Working Conditions / DemandsThis role requires the ability to effectively communicate and to operate a computer and other standard office productivity equipment. The position involves sedentary work as well as periods of time moving around an office environment and the campus.
