General Devices is currently looking for a skilled maintenance mechanic who is dedicated to continuous learning and improvement. A successful Maintenance Mechanic will have experience working in a metal manufacturing environment and understand how to maintain and repair the many machines that are required to fabricate using metal. General Devices is a metal manufacturer specializing in slide structures of all sizes that make moving heavy or accessing hard to reach parts easier. We also build cabinets and other structures for our customers to incorporate into their build. Scheduled Hours: 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM Overtime as needed Pay rate is posted at $23 to $29 per hour for an EXPERIENCED Maintenance Mechanic. Pay may be negotiable. What you will do: - - - - - Safely install, maintain, repair, and dismantle equipment used for a range of applications, such as brake presses, paint line(s), punch presses, etc. - - - -
- Troubleshoot electric issues - - - -
- Perform routine maintenance tasks in and around the property - - - -
- Provide emergency and unscheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment - - - -
- Diagnose problems and repair or replace parts, text, make adjustments or any other task that will improve the performance of the equipment - - - -
- Prepare and sets up machinery for scheduled production - - - -
- Use hand and power tools, measuring tools and other materials while performing your duties - - - -
- Perform tasks that include mechanical, electrical and hydraulic trouble shooting and repair - - - -
- Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to insure proper installation and maintenance - - - -
- Operate and repair forklift(s) - - - -
- Adhere to all OSHA or other safety rules in all aspects of the job - - - -
- Take courses on all phases of maintenance repair, including electrical, hydraulics, pneumatics, machining and welding, as needed - - - -
- May perform other duties as business needs require - - - -
- Physical requirements include the ability to walk, stand and lift 50 lbs. occasionally
What you bring to the job: - - - - - 5 years' experience working in manufacturing - - - -
- 3 years' minimum experience maintaining and repairing equipment - - - -
- A positive attitude and thirst for learning - - - -
- Good work ethic and dependability - - - -
- Knowledge of machine maintenance and repairs - - - -
- Training and or knowledge in electrical troubleshooting - - - -
- Knowledge of electrical diagnostics and ability to read drawings - - - -
- Ability to be an independent thinker and to find solutions to problems and implement the solutions. - - - -
- High motivation to handle a high volume of work in a fast-changing environment - - - -
- Sound judgment combined with solid decision-making skills - - - -
- Ability to learn new systems and functions of equipment
