Description: Job Title: Ministry Involvement Coordinator (Cooper Rd.) Job Type: Part-time with the potential to go Full-time Salary: $18-$20hr Department: Department of Ministry Reports to: Campus Pastor Direct Reports: None FLSA Status: Non-exempt, part-time OUR MISSION The mission of the Eastern Star Church ministry is evangelism and discipleship. We are committed to the great commission instituted by Jesus Christ. We are focused on ministering to the unsaved and nurturing and developing those that are saved (Matthew 28:18-20). Everything we have done is to live out this vision that the Lord has given to our church family. From adding ministries to staffing, from building facilities to adding programs, from stewardship to membership, it has all been for the purpose of being obedient to the commission of Christ. YOUR ROLE IN OUR MISSION The Ministry Involvement Coordinator is responsible for implementing the strategy to educate, inspire and direct members to discover their spiritual gifts and use them in ministry at Eastern Star Church and in the community. This position will also manage the Shelby NeXT membership database, coordinate membership campaigns, and implement and evaluate life event services for membership including Baby Dedication, Baptism, Communion, Weddings and Funerals across all campuses, as well as online. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES - Record and maintain accurate electronic and hardcopy membership information for existing and new members.
- Develop and evaluate strategies to collect and update membership information.
- Evaluate database content and efficiency.
- Coordinate with the tithing envelope vendor to maintain accurate records regarding giving methods and supply of envelopes.
- Develop and implement processes to report membership information to staff and members.
- Coordinate with ministry leaders and staff to collect accurate information about member ministry participation.
- Attend staff meetings and strategic planning sessions, contributing and providing appropriate reports and information as requested.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, volunteers, community representatives and vendors.
- Coordinate, evaluate, promote and implement ways for the congregation to become aware of their spiritual gifts, the ministry involvement process, and ministry opportunities (i.e. ministry fairs).
- Lead and develop ministry(s) as assigned.
- Maintain an effective work plan that prioritizes and outlines outcomes and timelines for effective member communications and member life event services.
- Assist with recruiting, interviewing, and placing applicants for volunteer work.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS AND IDEAL CHARACTERISTICS Must have the following: - Knowledge of word processing, desktop publishing and spreadsheets.
- Ability to operate personal computer, calculator, copy and fax machine, phone, and automobile.
- A Valid Indiana Driver's License is required.
- A mature walk with Christ, evidenced by a strong and well-articulated testimony, and mature interactions with others.
- Regularly practice personal spiritual disciplines.
- Have a commitment to moral purity in public and in private.
- Have healthy relationships with others, including with spouse (if married) and family.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE - Bachelor's Degree from a college or university preferred, or some college with equivalent relevant experience.
- Need strong written and verbal communication skills to communicate effectively with administration, supervisor, staff, volunteers, congregation and the community.
