It's a Win, Win!JOB DESCRIPTION Position Summary: This position is responsible for the technical support of our bearings operations working in a lean manufacturing environment. Works with cross-functional collaboration, people development, and project execution working directly with site and functional leadership. Collaborates with management in selecting and prioritization of projects, leaders and champions align with business/functional goals and strategies. Coaches, mentors, and develops site/functional team members through training, Kaizen events and continuous improvement events to effectively utilize performance excellence tools, methodologies and philosophies to drive performance excellence. Additionally, the position will work with Procurement/Supply Chain department to determine the best cost solutions for Regal Rexnord. Execute projects within the department/plant. Direct and continuous interactions with Operations, Procurement, Sales & Marketing is required, as is interaction with remote engineering resources.Major Responsibilities: - Utilizes key mechanical design and manufacturing principles, such as Statics, Dynamics, Mechanical Design, Thermodynamics, Materials and Heat Transfer to effectively make decisions impacting product quality, delivery and cost
- Reduce scrap and non-conformances by eliminating waste and variation in all forms
- Drives root cause corrective actions to reduce non-conformances
- Optimize productivity through efficient, ergonomic and safe work station and tooling designs
- Remain current in new Manufacturing Engineering technology, new manufacturing techniques and new equipment. Recommend new approaches where feasible
- Lead and participate in Kaizen events based on VSM Roadmaps
- Utilizes RBS tools to solve problems and continuously improve. Strives to achieve facilitator certifications in specific RBS tools
- Promote and facilitate the use/establishment of continuous improvement tools.
- Assist in developing and implementing the lean manufacturing action plans to support achievement of strategy deployment and strategic business growth.
- Analyze and resolve work problems, or assist others in solving problems using problem solving tools such as DMAIC
- Develop and implement manufacturing cost out projects.Required Education / Experience / Skills:
- Education: Bachelor's degree Mechanical, Aerospace, Industrial or Materials or equivalent related experience.
- Experience: 3 to 5 years engineering experience (full-time and/or co-op) in a manufacturing environment or a combination of manufacturing and quality engineering.
- Desired Skills:
- CNC Programming
- CAD and drafting knowledge
- Grinding, assembly knowledge
- Competent in Microsoft computer skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Verbal and written communications and presentation skills with all levels of employees and management.
- Ability to adjust to varying priorities and project lists.
