Job SummarySupervises the daily activities of craft personnel to complete tasks in the areas of leak survey, cathodic protection, regulation, odorization, and/or measurement. Responsible to ensure that all maintenance and capital improvement projects are completed in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Essential Functions - Supervises daily activities within technical field operations (TFO) in one or more areas involving: leak survey, cathodic protection, pressure regulation and control, odorization, or measurement activities in a Gas Region to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Responsible for proactive and reactive inspections and the subsequent troubleshooting in their area of responsibility.
- Responsible for directing the daily activities of company personnel and contract personnel, ensures annual performance reviews are completed, schedules all required training, and ensures employees are trained and equipped to complete all assigned job activities.
- Maintains departmental records to ensure compliance and performs administrative duties involving timesheets; ordering equipment; scheduling resources; review of field reports and data; expense report approvals; managing work orders; and supervising all departmental processes to ensure full compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.Supports the creation and implementation of maintenance plans to comply with regulatory or code requirements.
- Assists in developing capital and expense budgets, actively monitors/manages budgets throughout the year, negotiates contracts for service, and manages expense/capital projects through completion. Processes invoices and ensures projects are completed in a timely manner.
- Supports all regulatory reviews and audits of system records and responds to all regulatory data requests in area(s) of responsibility. Essential Functions continued
- Assists in the evaluation of new technologies and integrates into work processes where approved.
- Interacts with Operations and Engineering to ensure that all system replacements or modifications meet all internal and external compliance requirements. Provide emergency response resources (personnel and equipment) as required.
- Supports special projects such as but not limited to the following: ensuring easements for transmission lines are cleared and maintained; inside meter set project atmospheric corrosion inspections; AC mitigation work; deep ground bed installations; and mass transit projects.
- Ensure a safe work environment including the active participation in the CSAFE program by all in the work group.
- For leak survey, ensure that all main and service surveys are completed according to schedule, evaluate new technology and process improvements, and ensure audit issues are addressed as necessary.
- For cathodic protection, review major project needs (i.e. ground beds), review all steel jobs for cathodic protection design, evaluate new technology and process improvements, and ensure audit issues are addressed as necessary.
- For measurement, oversee the installation and troubleshooting of all meter stations, odorization equipment, and associated electronics; ensure that lost and unaccounted for gas issues are addressed; and involved with large volume billing errors.
- For pressure regulation and control, supervises staff to ensure all maintenance work is completed within compliance timelines, supports emergency response, and provides support for routine construction projects involving system pressure/capacity modifications. Education Description
- Requires a high school diploma or the equivalent knowledge of English, mathematics (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, and percentages), punctuation, grammar, and spelling. Experience
- Requires a minimum of seven (7) years of experience in natural gas operations or engineering or a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, plus four (4) years' experience in natural gas operations or engineering.
- Must have a valid state issued driver's license and maintain a good driving record.
- Minimum of one (1) years' experience in leadership capacity, to include being a lead on a project, or specific initiative across multiple work groups is preferred.
