About the role: The primary responsibility of this position is to lead advance manufacturing engineering projects. To do this, the successful candidate must have a strong understanding of engineering principles, manufacturing processes and project management. As a technical expert, you will be responsible for the manufacturing process design, technology, and equipment selection for complex and challenging projects. Role Responsibilities: - Manages overall project requirements, engineering, reliability, logistics, coordination of different teams, evaluation measurements, and other disciplines for large or complex projects.
- Coordinates equipment selection, control engineering, industrial engineering, organizational studies, and project management.
- Monitors budgets, cost, effectiveness, and reliability of activities and make recommendations to optimize resources, prioritize spending, and ensure that standards are met.
- Manages work-processes, optimization methods, and risk management tools for large or complex projects.
- Researches, evaluates, and recommends investments or changes in technology, resources, procedures, equipment, systems, or other assets to improve the quality of the organization's systems products and services.
- Provides analysis for the decomposition of customer specifications and system level requirements into sub-system and piece part requirements and makes recommendations for the generation of verification criteria and plans for the requirements.
- Work with Product engineering to define product roadmaps and establish/manage project plans, schedules, and resources to meet milestones and objectives.
- Partner with Operations to ensure deliverables integrate into their systems within the overall product release schedule.
Basic Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in engineering with 7+ year professional experience in engineering projects, OR advanced Degree with 5+ year professional experience engineering projects.
- Ability to travel nationally and internationally up to 30%.
Preferred Qualifications (assets) - Experience working in HVAC manufacturing.
- Complex project management experience.
- Ability to lead cross functional teams.
- Experience in safety and environmental regulations.
- Proficient with CAD
- Skills to communicate technical issues across functions.
- Experience in Quality tools.
- Lean or six sigma experience.
- Basic understanding of capital project finance.
- PLC programming experience is a plus.
