About this role As part of Carrier Building Controls, UTEC Controls designs, develops, and manufactures control solutions for HVAC, refrigeration, industrial, and related markets globally. UTEC Controls is seeking an Engineering Manager to be based in Fort Wayne, IN to lead advanced product development of connected sensing and controls solutions for global applications. This engineering leadership position is a critical role in support of a fast-paced and increasingly connected OEM business segment. It requires a self-directed leader with a passion for achieving and exceeding product and business growth targets while implementing differentiating new technology. Collaborating with corporate research, and external technology partners to define, plan, and deliver innovative products to market is key to success. Key Responsibilities - Provide technical leadership and direction for a staff of multi-discipline embedded design engineers.
- Work with OEM Solutions engineering leadership, sales, and product marking teams to develop and execute the product roadmap.
- Hire, develop and retain multi-discipline technical talent including direct, contract and outside resources.
- Ensure design and compliance to relevant standards and agency approvals (UL, CSA, cybersecurity, etc.).
- Champion development of best practices and standard work for continuous improvement in design engineering.
- Oversee execution of robust design practices and tools including requirements management, architecture, design, analysis, and test. This includes product safety assessments, FMEA deliverables, and engineering change management.
- Up to 10% travel - both domestic and international travel required.
Required Qualifications - Bachelor's Degree in Engineering.
- 10+ years of experience in product development with embedded design and systems.
- 5+ Years of engineering management.
