At EPS, you will receive an ownership stake in the value our combined honest efforts create.As a Building Engineer, you will focus on designing many different types of buildings for construction including: agricultural, commercial, residential and industrial. An ideal candidate is interested in producing high quality, detailed work based on established standards, guidelines and procedures. Precise, consistent work output is essential and requires the patience to handle and complete one task at a time. This position is designed to develop a valued technical expert, who can deliver quality work consistently with a focus on supporting our sales & management team in a stable work environment.Responsibilities:

• Develop plan views, cross section, construction details, etc. for the buildings to be constructed
• Develop preliminary drawings for buildings at the initial state of quoting
• Employ structural analysis to determine loads on structural members
• Employ structural design software to size members under various loads
• Utilize IBC (International Building Code) and provisions in ASCE 7 (American Society of Civil Engineers)
• Learn and understand EPS product lines
• Develop estimates for various client buildings; i.e. quantity take-off of materials and applicable material costing
• Build job knowledge by offering supportive communication to management & peers
• Communicate with others based on knowledge of procedures gained from sufficient on-the-job experience
• Produce consistent, error free work based on defined regulations and standards
• Use a steady, methodical work style to complete estimation projects, on time and error-freeBenefits Package:

    • Knowledge of construction methods, materials, structural design, and building codes
    • Ability to read and understand blueprints and architectural drawings
    • Ability to perform relevant structural analysis
    • Bachelor's degree, preferably in Engineering or a related field of study
    • 3-5 years of experience in the study or practice of Building Design/Engineering
    • Knowledge of Microsoft office suite, AutoCAD or related CAD drafting software is preferred
    • Willing to jump in and roll up your sleeves to help out when necessary
    • Able and interested in communicating with others based on job knowledge & expertise
    • Work at a steady, even pace to promote accuracy & quality of work through repetitive routines
    • Lead by example, with first-hand knowledge of area of expertise
