  • PCU RN position in Council Bluffs, Iowa
  • Stepdown RN department
  • Fast paced unit with many admits and discharges
  • Common diagnoses include heart failure, Afib, respiratory distress, and stroke
  • Nurse to patient ratio is 1:4
  • RNs required to titrate drips including Cardizem, amiodarone, and nitro
  • Charge nurse takes a full patient assignment
  • RNs must read and interpret telemetry strips
    Job Requirements
    • Must pass a skills exam during orientation with a minimum score of 90%
    • Must have BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
      Schedule Information
      • Shifts are 0630-1900 and 1830-0700
      • Cyclic scheduling with every third weekend requirement
      • 1 major and 1 minor holiday requirement
      • 1-12 hour shift of unit-specific orientation
        Unit Specific Information
        • Floating to ICU if appropriate and has experience
        • Common titratable drips include Cardizem, amiodarone, and nitro
          Additional Details
          • RTO needed upfront; additional RTO will not be approved after submissions
