Job Summary: An Ambulatory Registered Nurse (Ambulatory RN) provides nursing care to patients in outpatient settings, focusing on preventive, diagnostic, and therapeutic care for non-acute conditions. Ambulatory RNs work in various clinical environments such as clinics, primary care offices, specialty centers, and surgical centers, ensuring patient care continuity, education, and support in a non-hospital setting. Key Responsibilities: - Assess, plan, and deliver nursing care to patients in ambulatory care settings, including clinics, specialty offices, surgical centers, and primary care practices.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers, including physicians, nurse practitioners, and other clinical staff, to develop and implement care plans for patients.
- Educate patients and their families on health management, preventive care, medication adherence, and lifestyle modifications.
- Provide post-procedure care, including monitoring vital signs, managing pain, and supporting recovery.
- Administer medications, IV therapies, injections, and other treatments per clinical guidelines and patient care plans.
- Perform and interpret diagnostic tests such as blood pressure monitoring, lab tests, imaging, and patient assessments.
- Assist in the coordination of care with specialists and support referrals when necessary.
- Document patient care, interventions, and outcomes accurately and in compliance with regulatory and organizational standards.
- Promote patient engagement, self-management, and advocacy for chronic disease prevention and management.
- Maintain a focus on patient safety, infection control, and quality improvement in ambulatory care settings.
Qualifications: - Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred; Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) accepted.
