- Employment Type: TravelJob Title: Cath Lab Registered Nurse (RN)**\nJob Summary:\nA Cath Lab Registered Nurse (RN) provides specialized care to patients undergoing diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures. Cath Lab RNs play a crucial role in the preparation, monitoring, and recovery of patients undergoing procedures such as angiograms, angioplasties, stent placements, and other cardiovascular interventions. They collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.\n\nKey Responsibilities:\n
\n - Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care in the Cardiac Catheterization Lab (Cath Lab) during diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures.\n
- Prepare and assist patients before, during, and after cardiovascular procedures, ensuring the safe administration of medications and sedation.\n
- Monitor patients' vital signs, cardiac rhythms, and hemodynamic status during procedures, utilizing advanced monitoring equipment.\n
- Collaborate with physicians, interventional cardiologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure safe and efficient procedural care.\n
- Assist in the setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting of cardiac catheters, imaging equipment, and other medical devices.\n
- Administer medications, including sedation and pain management, as prescribed for procedures such as angioplasty and stent placement.\n
- Educate patients and their families on procedure preparation, post-procedure care, and recovery expectations.\n
- Monitor patients for complications, such as bleeding, arrhythmias, or hemodynamic instability, and provide immediate intervention as needed.\n
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient assessments, procedures, and interventions, ensuring compliance with clinical standards and regulatory requirements.\n
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, clinical education, and professional development related to cardiac care.\n
- Provide emotional support to patients and families, addressing concerns regarding procedures and recovery.\n\n\nQualifications:\n
\n - Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred; Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) accepted.\n
