The PositionOur facility manufactures components for the construction, water treatment and transportation industries in Independence, KS. We are looking for an experienced, energetic, and professional Operations Manager to manage the manufacturing departments comprising of 40+ teammates. In this role, you would be a key contributor of the management team by developing, training and overseeing best practices for safety, production and product quality while meeting the delivery and quality requirements of our customers. This is an on-site, non-remote position reporting to the Plant Manager.As the Operations Manager you will: - Assist the management team in ensuring a safe working environment for all MFG teammates.
- Oversee daily operation of production departments, the meeting production schedules and adherence to quality requirements of the customer.
- Assist in planning materials required to meet manufacturing schedules.
- As part of the management team, participate in identifying staffing needs, conducting interviews, and training of manufacturing teammates.
- Support initiatives to enhance employee engagement, satisfaction, and retention, fostering a positive and inclusive work environment.
- Assist with employee relations matters, including conflict resolution, investigations, and disciplinary actions for manufacturing teammates. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Direct experience in managing a fiberglass operation.
- 5-10 years progressive manufacturing management.
- Knowledge of the key characteristics of FRP quality and ability to train manufacturing employees on attaining these characteristics.
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with teammates, the management team and customers.
