PT Job SummaryThe Physical therapist (PT) evaluates and treats residents and patients with temporary or long-term physical disabilities to relieve pain, restore function and promote healing by applying the therapeutic properties of exercise, heat, ultrasound, massaged and other forms of treatment. Under a physician's orders, the therapist performs his or her duties within their scope of practice and federal guidelinesPT QualificationsBachelor's degree or Master's/Doctorate Degree in Physical TherapyCurrent license to practice Physical Therapy issued by the state where applicable.PT Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesReviews physicians' referrals and patent's conditions and medical records to determine in consultation with the physician, the appropriate physical therapy treatment(s) required.Evaluates plans and administers medically prescribed physical therapy treatment to patients suffering from injuries, or muscle, nerve, joint and bone diseases related to neuromuscular and musculoskeletal systems to improve or restore function, relieve pain and prevent disability.
