This is an on-site, permanent placement opportunity!Why join us?The most competitive pay in the industry based upon your skill level, along with a full benefits package.Job DetailsAs a member of the team, the Safety Manager is responsible for developing, coordinating, and managing the company's safety programs to ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local government laws. Prior safety management experience required. Applicants are required to hold a bachelor's degree in occupational health and safety or another similar field, such as chemistry, biology or engineering or 3+ years in a Safety Manager/leadership position.As the Safety Manager, you will provide safety education, training, supervision, and compliance oversight for our plant level safety auditors. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES - Train, motivate, and monitor employees, and management, in safe practices including: hazardous communications, bloodborne pathogens, respirator use, lock-out/tag-out, forklift operation, fire protection, and safe lifting. May be required to certify employees on OSHA 10, OHSA 30 or other safety related certifications.
- Work closely with the Maintenance team to establish project safety measures and training protocols. Provide safety-related input for bid proposals and attend bid meetings as required.
- Collaborate with all locations to ensure timely completion of required safety training and reporting. Review training programs annually to ensure compliance with U.S. federal, state, and local laws. Work with Managers to design safety training for colleagues at all levels.
- Administer Personal Protective Equipment programs to ensure proper training, usage, and maintenance.
- Conduct inspections of facilities, machinery, equipment, and personnel practices to identify potential safety and health concerns and hazards.
- Oversee injury management in worker compensation matters. Develop and implements accident investigation, data analysis, and recurrence prevention programs and procedures.
- Work closely with outside risk management firms to manage workers compensation claims, costs, and rates.
- Collaborate with relevant government agencies to ensure compliance, address issues promptly, and evaluate the availability of government training or local programs to enhance safety or reduce workers' compensation costs.

- Bachelor degree or equivalent experience, with a preference for safety or engineering/technical background.
- 3+ years' experience in safety related field with exposure to industrial production/construction sites. Food production related experience is a plus.
- Current First Aid and CPR certifications.
- Strong knowledge of health, safety, and environmental training with the ability to develop, implement and coordinate comprehensive health and safety accident prevention programs.
- Proven track record of safety management, training, and consistent improvements.
- Excellent communication skills both orally and written.
- Proficient computer skills (MS Excel, MS Word, or similar products).PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
