The Director of Plant Operations is responsible for overseeing all aspects of maintenance operations to ensure a safe, functional, and efficient hospital environment.

Salary Range: $142,029 - $168,512 per year
Must-Haves:Associate's degree or 5+ years of Plant Operations experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role (preferably in healthcare)
Strong knowledge of building systems, construction, and maintenance practices
Familiarity with healthcare-specific regulations and codes
Nice-To-Haves:Bachelor's degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, or related field
Certified Healthcare Facility Manager (CHFM) certification
OSHA or other safety certifications
Key responsibilities include:

Leadership and Management:Supervise and manage the maintenance team
Develop and implement maintenance policies and procedures
Coordinate with other hospital departments

Facilities Maintenance:Oversee maintenance and repair of building systems
Manage building systems and grounds upkeep
Plan and execute preventive maintenance programs

Regulatory Compliance:Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations
Prepare for and participate in facility inspections and audits
Maintain accurate records of maintenance work and safety inspections

Budgeting and Planning:Develop and manage the department's budget
Collaborate on long-term facility planning and renovation projects
Evaluate vendor contracts and oversee outsourced services

Crisis Management:Respond to facility emergencies
Develop and maintain emergency preparedness plans

Required Skills:Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills
Proficiency in maintenance management software and Microsoft Office Suite
Ability to work in a stressful environment with minimal supervision

Additional Requirements:Handled with Care (HWC) certification within 45 days of hire
