Position Summary:A concrete Laborer is required to perform a variety of tasks including placing, finishing, protecting and repairing concrete. Responsibilities: - Comply with (and actively promote) all Safety policies and procedures including reporting all accidents, incidents and near-misses to ensure adherence to our Number One Core Value - Safety first, in everything we do.
- Operates a screed to level freshly placed concrete according to grade and depth specification.
- Smooth concrete surface using either a hand trowel, long handled "bull float" or powered float.
- Cut joints/grooves in concrete with edging tools to help control cracking.
- Apply hardening and sealing components to cure surfaces.
- Monitor the wind, heat and cold as it affects the curing of the concrete.
Qualifications: - Must have good vision, stamina, good hand eye coordination and an ability to estimate size and dimensions.
- Skill in smoothing, finishing freshly placed concrete, applying surface treatments and restoring concrete surfaces.
- Required to perform task that include heavy lifting, climbing, balancing, stooping kneeling, crouching, crawling and reaching.
- Must be able to work outdoors in areas that are dusty or dirty.
- Must be able to meet all safety requirements and applicable safety policies. Necessary Attributes:
