Title: Nurse Practitioner Fellowship, Lewiston, Maine What You'll Do: A yearlong fellowship program which will prepare a nurse practitioner for specialty certification and practice in hospice and palliative care. Learning will be primarily through direct, supervised clinical care in a variety of sites including hospital and hospice inpatient, ambulatory care and home care. Training focused on symptom management, communication, prognostication, establishing and documenting goals of care for patients with a wide array of serious illnesses. Clinical experience will be augmented by didactic and project-based learning. There will be opportunities to work with multiple members of the interdisciplinary team, including physicians, social workers and chaplaincy. What You'll Bring: Current Nurse Practitioner license in the state of Maine or ability to obtain a Maine license. 2 Years of recent NP experience preferred. Certification in area of focus which must include care of adults. DEA license for prescribing controlled substances. Completion of online application with curriculum vitae. Personal statement describing interest in MCPM NP fellowship program, learning objectives for the fellowship year and goals to advance palliative and hospice care in our communities (500-word limit). Ability to participate full time (40 hours per week) in the fellowship program, including travel to multiple clinical sites across central and southern Maine.
