EchoStar has an exciting opportunity for a Sr Manager Satellite Terminal Hardware Design in our Hughes Network Systems division to work in our Ground Segment Group within hardware engineering. - The position is located in our Germantown, Maryland office.At Hughes, we are developing some of the largest and most powerful satellite and terrestrial IP-based communications systems in the world. We are looking for engineering professionals to help us achieve our vision of providing broadband connectivity everywhere. - Your role is to bring best-in-class user terminal solutions to our high-throughput ground networks.Responsibilities: - - Manage the technical development and project management for the development and delivery of advanced user terminal solutions for satellite and terrestrial IP-based communications systems
- Lead -and direct -a multi-functional engineering team to develop and integrate hardware, software, and network technology to satisfy customer requirements and deliverables
- Establish -objectives, specifications, schedules, budgets, resource plans, and contingency plans to ensure projects are executed effectively
- Oversee -all aspects of the development over the entire project life (concept, development, integration, qualification, acceptance, and delivery)
- Coordinate -across multiple corporate functions including business, operations, and manufacturing
- Perform -the function of technical customer interface
- Ensure -the timely and cost effective accomplishment of contractual commitmentsBasic Requirements: -
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering
- 10+ years of experience -with a -background in -hardware development of satellite and terrestrial IP-based user terminal architectures and systems
- 5+ years -leading cross functional engineering teams in design and development projects with external customer deliverablesPreferred Qualifications:
