-Job Title: Lead Software Engineer-Data ApplicationsJob Code: 17534Job Location: Multiple locations available, work must be done onsite, relocation can be provided for those that qualify -Job Description: The Business Intelligence and Data Management department of the IMS Segment is seeking a Lead Software Engineer with extensive experience in software infrastructure from initiation through maintenance and operations to create a cutting-edge application to collect visualize data. -This position requires an engineer who will bring innovative ideas to all areas of data and software engineering, including information retrieval, distributed computing, large-scale system design, networking and data storage, security, artificial intelligence, natural language processing, and UI design. -Essential Functions: Design, build, and maintain software components for data collection, processing, and analysis. Analyze workflows to identify gaps in data and propose solutions. Collaborate with engineers from other teams to integrate data collection into existing and new AI infrastructure. Develop tools and systems to summarize, visualize, and query data. Contribute to the design and implementation of scalable and reliable data processing pipelines, participate in code reviews, and contribute to improving engineering best practices. Implement and maintain robust CI/CD pipelines for efficient deployment and testing. Must havethe ability to obtain a DoD security clearanceQualifications: - Bachelor's Degree and minimum 9 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior related experience. 5 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages, and with data structures/algorithms. 5 years of experience testing, maintaining, or launching software products, and 2 years of experience with software design and architecture. 3 years of experience in Data Integration using tools such as Palantir. 1 year experience with designing and developing data pipelines in PySpark, Spark SQL, or Code Build. US CItizenshipPreferred Additional Skills: Active DoD Clearance Strong understanding of Business Intelligence (BI) and Data Warehouse (DW) development methodologies. Experience with the Snowflake Cloud Data Platform, including data architecture, query optimization, and performance tuning. Proficiency in Python, Pandas, Databricks, JavaScript, or other scripting languages for data processing and automation. Experience with other ETL tools such as Azure Data Factory (ADF), SSIS, Informatica, or Talend is highly desirable.
