Director, Procurement Position SummaryThe Director of Procurement is responsible for leading procurement for our Harmans/BWI & Biopark sites, sourcing and procuring materials, services and capital for the three facilities. The Director of Procurement will lead site procurement teams, initiate and foster relationships with site stakeholders, establish and prioritize activities for their site teams to achieve objectives and results. The role will work closely with other regional directors, the GPO, key support departments, and critical stakeholders across the company. The Director will be an active member of the BWI Site Leadership Team and an enterprise leader able to contribute to site overall discussions and not just limited to procurement activities.The Harmans/BWI-1 is an EMA and FDA-approved facility houses 10 CGMP manufacturing suites, fill/finish, central services, testing labs, and a warehouse. The Harmans/BWI-2 facility, at approximately will house 8 CGMP manufacturing suites and cold storage warehousing. Both facilities support Phase 3 through commercial manufacturing of advanced therapeutic products including AAV and other viral vector-based therapies and vaccines. Lastly, our BioPark Gene Therapy facility is located at the University of Maryland (UMD), and specializes in upstream and downstream process development of viral vectors for clinical applications. The facility houses process development labs and CGMP cleanroom suites for Phase 1 and 2 programs focused on a variety of transformative technologies, including AAV and other viral vectors, vaccines, and oncolytic immunotherapies.The Role - Ensure site procurement is engaged and aligned with internal customers/stakeholders, gaining stakeholder and leadership support across the sites
- Utilize sourcing and category management processes across sites to understand the business requirements, build the portfolio of purchasing projects and develop sourcing strategies aligned to stakeholder needs
- Ensure annual procurement budget (savings, cost avoidance, inflation) are met
- Actively participate in building and/or delivering Op Mech, QBR, and other site procurement updates and messaging to stakeholders
- Minimize impact of supplier shortages by proactively identifying and resolving potential material supply issues, timely communication, collaborating with Supply Chain for inventory build, and proper escalation
- Ensure that site procurement teams drive compliance to Procurement Policies and ProceduresThe Candidate
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Operations, Supply Chain or comparable disciplines.-- Masters preferred; Industry certifications a plus
- Minimum of 5+ years of progressive international experience in a procurement leadership capacity
- Effectively assess risk and implement mitigation plans to either prevent or minimize impact to ensure business continuity
- Capable of technical and commercial assessments and appraisals of potential and existing sources of supplies
- Ability to build and lead functional/cross-functional teams across a region of sites
- Strong interpersonal and effective oral and written communication skills
- Strong problem solving skills and the ability to react, adapt and drive positive change
- Results and service oriented, can operate with a sense of urgencyPAYThe anticipated salary range for this position in Maryland is $188,320 - $258,940 plus variable incentive compensation.
